Both models have been removed from the assembly line without direct successors being prepared.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"189\" data-end=\"617\">Production of the A1 had been ongoing since 2010, with the second generation debuting in 2019. The Q2 crossover was introduced in 2016 and remained the only generation in its history. Over this time, more than 1.38 million units of the A1 were sold, while the Q2 found nearly 887,000 buyers worldwide. The models were produced at plants in Martorell (Spain) and Ingolstadt (Germany), where their assembly has now been completed.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"619\" data-end=\"886\">Discontinuing these vehicles signals that Audi is gradually moving away from traditional compact internal combustion engine models, focusing instead on electrified solutions. One such model will be the new Audi A2 e-tron hatchback, which will revive the A2 nameplate.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"888\" data-end=\"1221\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">The new model is expected to debut in autumn 2026. According to preliminary information, the electric vehicle will be built on the MEB platform, already used by the Volkswagen ID.3 and Cupra Born.
