This was announced by the operator company United Launch Alliance (ULA).<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"321\" data-end=\"646\">The launch, using a first stage equipped with the Russian-made RD-180 engine, took place from Launch Complex 41 at the U.S. Space Force base at Cape Canaveral, Florida, on Monday at 8:52 p.m. Eastern Time (03:52 Kyiv time Tuesday). Approximately 38 minutes after liftoff, the spacecraft were successfully deployed into orbit.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"648\" data-end=\"966\">As part of the Amazon Leo project (formerly Kuiper), ten groups of satellites have been launched into orbits at altitudes of 590, 610, and 630 km since late April last year. The constellation now consists of 268 satellites. In 2023, Amazon launched its first two test internet satellites \u2014 KuiperSat-1 and KuiperSat-2.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"968\" data-end=\"1100\">The full satellite constellation is expected to include 3,276 spacecraft by 2027\u20132028, providing global broadband internet coverage.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1102\" data-end=\"1289\">The Amazon Leo\/Kuiper project is a direct competitor to SpaceX\u2019s Starlink system, which already has more than 10,000 satellites in orbit capable of delivering internet services worldwide.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1291\" data-end=\"1438\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">According to Amazon, the total cost of the project exceeds $10 billion.
