It is based on our national interests and our commitment to effectively meeting urgent market needs,\u201d the statement said.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"478\" data-end=\"734\">UAE Energy Minister Suhail Mohamed Al Mazrouei told the agency that the decision followed a thorough assessment of the country\u2019s energy strategies. He emphasized that the UAE did not directly consult with any parties when making the decision to leave OPEC.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"736\" data-end=\"937\">Reuters notes that the UAE\u2019s exit from OPEC is seen as a win for U.S. President Donald Trump, who had previously accused the organization of \u201cripping off the rest of the world\u201d by inflating oil prices.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"939\" data-end=\"1274\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">\u201cOperating outside the producer group will allow the UAE to fully leverage its position as a supplier of some of the cheapest and lowest-carbon barrels in the world.
