This exceeds the levels seen during the 2023 energy crisis, when prices surged sharply. Compared to February, imports more than doubled.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"453\" data-end=\"706\">Spain is known to have six regasification plants \u2014 located in Barcelona, Cartagena, Huelva, Bilbao, Sagunto, and Mugardos. This allows major international traders to store gas there not only for the Spanish market but also for resale to other countries.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"708\" data-end=\"967\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">At the same time, domestic consumption has also increased. Demand in March rose by 2%, while gas use for electricity generation surged by 46.8%.
