The main reasons were rising fuel costs due to the conflict in the Middle East and higher global oil prices, according to a statement published on the website of the National Bank of Ukraine.

Higher fuel and oil prices have led to increased transportation costs.

Fuel prices rose by 23.4% over the year. Prices at gas stations increased as a direct result of hostilities in the Middle East, which significantly drove up global prices for petroleum products and gas.

Government-regulated tariffs and transport fares increased by 8.6%.
