The Commission will assess whether the financing complies with EU rules on such support.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"421\" data-end=\"566\">\u201cThe new nuclear energy sector in France will, in the coming years, become a major source of electricity produced in the EU,\u201d the statement said.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"568\" data-end=\"703\">The nuclear revival program \u043f\u0440\u0435\u0434\u0443\u0441\u043c\u0430\u0442\u0440\u0438\u0432\u0430\u0435\u0442 (envisages) the construction of six new nuclear reactors with a total capacity of 9,990 MW.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"705\" data-end=\"905\">The country plans to support the program by providing the state-owned company EDF with a subsidized loan at a preferential rate, covering 60% of the estimated total construction cost of \u20ac72.8 billion.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"907\" data-end=\"1106\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">The new reactors will be built at the Penly, Gravelines, and Bugey nuclear power plant sites.
