{"id":151290,"date":"2026-03-16T12:00:29","date_gmt":"2026-03-16T10:00:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ldaily.ua\/?post_type=news&#038;p=151290"},"modified":"2026-03-15T18:27:20","modified_gmt":"2026-03-15T16:27:20","slug":"naftogaz-ostatochno-vygrav-spravu-proty-gazpromu-na-14-mlrd","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/ldaily.ua\/en\/news\/novosti\/naftogaz-ostatochno-vygrav-spravu-proty-gazpromu-na-14-mlrd\/","title":{"rendered":"Naftogaz Wins Final Court Case Against Gazprom for $1.4 Billion"},"content":{"rendered":"<p data-start=\"69\" data-end=\"338\"><span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Naftogaz<\/span><\/span> has definitively won a legal dispute with the Russian gas monopoly <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Gazprom<\/span><\/span> over the payment of $1.4 billion in debt for gas transit services, according to the Ukrainian company\u2019s press service.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"340\" data-end=\"662\">\u201cThe <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Swiss Federal Supreme Court<\/span><\/span> has fully rejected Gazprom\u2019s request to overturn the arbitration award of June 16, 2025, under which the Russian company must pay Naftogaz more than $1.4 billion in debt for services related to organizing the transportation of natural gas, plus interest,\u201d the statement said.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"664\" data-end=\"884\">The court also ordered the Russian company to pay court costs of 200,000 Swiss francs and reimburse Naftogaz 250,000 Swiss francs for legal expenses incurred during the proceedings before the Swiss Federal Supreme Court.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"886\" data-end=\"1268\">\u201cThus, Switzerland\u2019s highest judicial authority has confirmed the validity of the arbitration ruling and definitively rejected the arguments of the Russian side. Naftogaz will continue working to enforce this decision and is pursuing a number of other legal proceedings against the aggressor state,\u201d said <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Serhii Koretskyi<\/span><\/span>, Chairman of the Board of Naftogaz.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1270\" data-end=\"1735\">The company recalled that Naftogaz had been obligated to organize the transit of natural gas through the territory of <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Ukraine<\/span><\/span> for Gazprom until the agreement expired on January 1, 2025. After the start of the full-scale invasion and the suspension of gas transit through the <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Sokhranivka<\/span><\/span> entry point, transit operations were maintained through the <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Sudzha<\/span><\/span> entry point.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1737\" data-end=\"1872\">Despite this, Gazprom refused to pay in full for the organization of gas transportation, thereby violating its contractual obligations.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1874\" data-end=\"2121\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">In September 2022, Naftogaz initiated arbitration proceedings against Gazprom.
