{"id":151281,"date":"2026-03-12T18:00:33","date_gmt":"2026-03-12T16:00:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ldaily.ua\/?post_type=news&#038;p=151281"},"modified":"2026-03-11T21:50:40","modified_gmt":"2026-03-11T19:50:40","slug":"najbilshi-gazovi-giganty-u-sviti-ogolosyly-fors-mazhor","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/ldaily.ua\/en\/news\/najbilshi-gazovi-giganty-u-sviti-ogolosyly-fors-mazhor\/","title":{"rendered":"World\u2019s Largest Gas Giants Declare Force Majeure"},"content":{"rendered":"<p data-start=\"54\" data-end=\"274\">The world\u2019s largest natural gas traders have declared force majeure following a halt in production in <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Qatar<\/span><\/span>, according to <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Reuters<\/span><\/span>, citing its sources.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"276\" data-end=\"578\">Several companies that purchase liquefied natural gas (LNG) from <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">QatarEnergy<\/span><\/span>, including <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Shell<\/span><\/span>, <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">TotalEnergies<\/span><\/span>, and several firms in Asia, have declared force majeure to their customers to whom they supply gas.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"580\" data-end=\"786\">Qatar, the world\u2019s second-largest exporter of LNG, announced last week that it had suspended production at its facility with an annual capacity of 77 million tons and declared force majeure on LNG supplies.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"788\" data-end=\"1036\">Shell \u2014 the world\u2019s largest LNG trader \u2014 and TotalEnergies maintain long-term partnerships with QatarEnergy and are partners in the company\u2019s large-scale <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">North Field Expansion Project<\/span><\/span>, which aims to increase production capacity by 2027.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1038\" data-end=\"1222\">Analysts estimate that Shell purchases about 6.8 million tons of Qatari LNG per year, while TotalEnergies purchases about 5.2 million tons annually and resells it to clients worldwide.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1224\" data-end=\"1453\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">Experts say it is currently difficult to predict how markets will react to this force majeure situation.
