{"id":151162,"date":"2026-02-19T12:00:55","date_gmt":"2026-02-19T10:00:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ldaily.ua\/?post_type=news&#038;p=151162"},"modified":"2026-02-17T20:50:55","modified_gmt":"2026-02-17T18:50:55","slug":"rumuniya-ta-ssha-zbuduyut-zavod-iz-pererobky-ridkozemiv","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/ldaily.ua\/en\/news\/rumuniya-ta-ssha-zbuduyut-zavod-iz-pererobky-ridkozemiv\/","title":{"rendered":"Romania and the United States to Build a Rare Earth Processing Plant"},"content":{"rendered":"<p data-start=\"113\" data-end=\"355\">Authorities in <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Romania<\/span><\/span> and the U.S. company <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Critical Metals Corp<\/span><\/span> have signed an agreement to construct a rare earth elements processing plant in <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Bra\u0219ov<\/span><\/span>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"357\" data-end=\"526\">According to Romania\u2019s Energy Minister Bogdan Ivan, the facility will process concentrate extracted by the American company in <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Greenland<\/span><\/span>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"528\" data-end=\"799\">The new project is expected to help Romania become a global player in the rare earth metals sector. The minister added that by mid-April, Romanian authorities will determine the financing terms for the construction and specify which metals will be processed at the plant.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"801\" data-end=\"1126\">\u201cThe initiative covers the entire economic cycle \u2014 from resource extraction at the Tanbreez deposit in Greenland to processing and final industrial use in Europe and the United States,\u201d Ivan said, recalling plans by the <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">European Union<\/span><\/span> to become fully independent from Chinese rare earth processing.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1128\" data-end=\"1405\">Critical Metals Corp confirmed that the project will help reduce Europe\u2019s and the United States\u2019 dependence on supplies from <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">China<\/span><\/span>.
