The adopted measure allegedly violates the founding documents of the European Union. This was stated by the country\u2019s Foreign Minister, P\u00e9ter Szijj\u00e1rt\u00f3 (also spelled \u201cSijj\u00e1rt\u00f3\u201d), according to Reuters.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"416\" data-end=\"531\">\u201cIt is impossible for Hungary to accept and implement this decision from Brussels,\u201d the Hungarian official claimed.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"533\" data-end=\"668\">According to Szijj\u00e1rt\u00f3, he discussed the issue with Slovakia\u2019s Prime Minister Robert Fico, and they agreed to coordinate their actions.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"670\" data-end=\"983\">For his part, Fico said that his country has grounds to take the matter to court over the EU\u2019s decision to abandon Russian gas. However, the final decision will depend on how the European Commission fulfills the guarantees provided to Slovakia earlier this year to prevent potential gas shortages or price spikes.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"985\" data-end=\"1187\">The publication notes that decisions regarding the phase-out of energy resources require only the support of a majority of EU member states.
