The planes are scheduled to undergo repairs. The news was reported by Reuters.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"301\" data-end=\"555\">The repair campaign includes rolling back aircraft to a previous version of the software. The procedure takes about two hours, although some aircraft will require additional hardware replacement, which means they will remain grounded for a longer period.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"557\" data-end=\"814\">&#8220;Airlines in the United States, Europe, South America and India have already been affected by the recall. For example, Avianca reported that over 70% of its fleet will be temporarily grounded, which represents 5% of its daily operations,&#8221; the report states.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"816\" data-end=\"1226\">The announcement followed an incident on October 30 on a JetBlue flight from Canc\u00fan to Newark. During the flight, the aircraft experienced a sudden loss of altitude that injured several passengers. The crew made an emergency landing in Tampa. Airbus stated that &#8220;a recent incident involving an A320-family aircraft showed that solar flares can corrupt data critical to the operation of flight-control systems.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1228\" data-end=\"1507\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">According to Airbus, the malfunction is linked to the ELAC system, which transmits commands from the pilot\u2019s controls to the aircraft\u2019s control surfaces.
