His statement comes amid reports that Belgium continues to block the financing scheme based on the use of frozen Russian assets.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"378\" data-end=\"549\">According to him, countries must speed up payments to Ukraine under the G7 loan agreed in June last year in order to cover the financial gap at the beginning of next year.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"551\" data-end=\"711\">\u201cWe are in discussions with other international donors to see whether their support can be brought forward to the beginning of the year,\u201d the Commissioner said.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"713\" data-end=\"813\">He noted that the group of donors includes the United Kingdom, Canada, Japan, and the United States.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"815\" data-end=\"962\">Dombrovskis believes this could be enough to cover Ukraine\u2019s financial needs in the first quarter of next year, although \u201cthat remains to be seen.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"964\" data-end=\"1182\">The EU has already disbursed its share of the G7 loan, amounting to \u20ac18.1 billion, according to media reports.
