The year 2026 is expected to be a turning point for two of Tesla\u2019s key initiatives \u2014 the Robotaxi service and the Optimus robot \u2014 and will require an unprecedented level of workload.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"576\" data-end=\"847\">During the nearly two-hour gathering, the heads of all AI divisions spoke to employees, outlining aggressive production deadlines for Optimus and plans to deploy a fleet of driverless taxis. One employee described the meeting as a \u201cbattle cry\u201d meant to mobilize the team.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"849\" data-end=\"1363\">According to Elon Musk\u2019s plans, presented during the quarterly earnings call in October, Tesla aims to launch Robotaxi in 8\u201310 megacities by the end of 2025 and put more than a thousand such vehicles on the road. The company plans to begin production of the humanoid Optimus robot at the end of 2026. Musk acknowledges that scaling will take time due to the complexity of the design: the device consists of roughly 10,000 unique components, and the pace will depend on the \u201cslowest and most temperamental\u201d of them.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1365\" data-end=\"1584\">The Autopilot and Optimus teams work in the same office and regularly meet with Musk: according to employees, meetings occur weekly and often last into the night.
