A year earlier, it stood at 24%, and within just one quarter AMD added another 1.4 percentage points compared to its 24.2% share in Q2.

Analysts note that overall x86 market growth in Q3 was below seasonal expectations due to high shipment volumes of IoT processors in the previous quarter, which created an inflated comparison base. The report also mentions that the share of ARM processors (including the server market) increased from 10.9% to 11.6%, driven mainly by Apple and the popularity of Chromebooks.

AMD shows the strongest gains in the desktop segment. The company’s share has reached 33.6%, up 4.9 percentage points year-over-year and 1.4 points quarter-over-quarter. Intel, which controlled 71.3% of the market a year ago, has now fallen to 66.4%. According to experts, the key driver of AMD’s growth is the Ryzen X3D lineup with expanded cache memory.

The mobile segment shows a more restrained picture: Intel slightly increased its annual share from 77.7% to 78.1%, though it lost 1.4 percentage points quarter-over-quarter. AMD, accordingly, declined annually from 22.3% to 21.9%, but grew compared to the second quarter.

Overall, in the client processor market excluding IoT, AMD held 25.4% at the end of Q3 — an increase of 1.5 percentage points quarter-over-quarter and 1.4 points year-over-year.

[9
["post-150592","news","type-news","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","newscat-novosti
["GET
