The mission was carried out for the U.S. Space Development Agency (SDA).<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"423\" data-end=\"739\">According to the agency\u2019s briefing note, the launch contributes to the deployment of the Tranche 1 Transport Layer (T1TL) \u2014 a network of 126 satellites in low Earth orbit that will \u201cprovide global communications access and continuous regional encrypted connectivity to support military missions worldwide.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"741\" data-end=\"879\">This marks SpaceX\u2019s second launch under the T1TL project. The first one, conducted on September 10, also deployed 21 satellites.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"881\" data-end=\"1133\">The current batch was manufactured by Lockheed Martin, while the previous set was built by York Space Systems. Northrop Grumman is also participating in the project \u2014 each of the three companies is tasked with producing 42 satellites.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1135\" data-end=\"1385\">T1TL will form part of the broader Proliferated Warfighter Space Architecture (PWSA), which will include several hundred satellites across seven layers \u2014 for battle management, surveillance, navigation, missile tracking, transport, and support.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1387\" data-end=\"1692\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">The Falcon 9\u2019s first stage successfully landed on the drone ship Of Course I Still Love You in the Pacific Ocean about 8.5 minutes after liftoff.
