The decision was announced in a statement by the Commission.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"330\" data-end=\"579\">According to the report, the companies restricted independent third-party retailers \u2014 with whom they collaborated \u2014 from setting their own online and offline retail prices for products sold under the Gucci, Chlo\u00e9, and Loewe brands.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"581\" data-end=\"849\">Specifically, the three fashion houses interfered in the commercial strategies of their retailers by imposing restrictions such as prohibiting deviations from recommended retail prices, limiting the size of discounts, and setting fixed sales periods.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"851\" data-end=\"1124\">In some cases, at least temporarily, retailers were banned from offering any discounts at all. Gucci, Chlo\u00e9, and Loewe sought to ensure that their retail partners applied the same prices and sales conditions as those used in the brands\u2019 own direct sales channels.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1126\" data-end=\"1264\">The European Commission emphasized that such anti-competitive behavior results in higher prices and fewer choices for consumers.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1126\" data-end=\"1264\">\u201cIn Europe, all consumers deserve to benefit from genuine price competition. This decision sends a strong signal to the fashion industry \u2014 and beyond \u2014 that such practices will not be tolerated in Europe.
