{"id":150418,"date":"2025-10-14T15:00:46","date_gmt":"2025-10-14T12:00:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ldaily.ua\/?post_type=news&#038;p=150418"},"modified":"2025-10-12T19:52:21","modified_gmt":"2025-10-12T16:52:21","slug":"rosiya-naklala-sankcziyi-na-renault-za-dopomogu-ukrayini","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/ldaily.ua\/en\/news\/novosti\/rosiya-naklala-sankcziyi-na-renault-za-dopomogu-ukrayini\/","title":{"rendered":"Russia Imposes Sanctions on Renault for Assisting Ukraine"},"content":{"rendered":"<p data-start=\"65\" data-end=\"353\">The Russian government has added the French car manufacturer Renault SAS to its sanctions list, citing alleged involvement in the production of drones for Ukraine, according to a decree published on Russia\u2019s official legal information portal, The Moscow Times reports.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"355\" data-end=\"402\">The sanctions include the following measures:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"403\" data-end=\"735\">\n<li data-start=\"403\" data-end=\"498\">\n<p data-start=\"405\" data-end=\"498\">A ban on transactions, including foreign trade contracts, with the listed entities;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"499\" data-end=\"604\">\n<p data-start=\"501\" data-end=\"604\">Restrictions on fulfilling obligations under already signed agreements with sanctioned companies;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"605\" data-end=\"735\">\n<p data-start=\"607\" data-end=\"735\">A prohibition on payments to individuals or entities on the list, as well as on operations involving their securities.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"737\" data-end=\"960\">\u201cThe Russian government created this sanctions list in May 2022. It also includes another category of companies subject to special economic measures \u2014 not necessarily related to military activity,\u201d the statement says.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"962\" data-end=\"1207\">Renault opened its first office in Russia in 1992, and in 1998 signed an agreement with the Moscow government to establish the Avtoframos joint venture. By 2005, a full-cycle production plant had been launched on its basis.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1209\" data-end=\"1340\">The company gradually increased its ownership in the venture to 100%, and in 2014, it was renamed ZAO Renault Russia.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1342\" data-end=\"1644\">In April 2022, following Russia\u2019s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Renault \u2014 which then held nearly 30% of the Russian car market \u2014 decided to transfer its Russian assets to the state for a symbolic price of one ruble, securing a six-year option to potentially repurchase the business.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1646\" data-end=\"1880\">\u201cAfter Renault\u2019s exit, the Renault Russia plant in Moscow was rebranded as the Moskvich automobile factory, where production of Chinese car copies assembled from Beijing-supplied kits later began,\u201d the publication notes.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1882\" data-end=\"2208\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">In early June, then\u2013French Defense Minister S\u00e9bastien Lecornu stated that France was lagging behind Ukraine in drone development and announced plans to enhance cooperation.
