He also declared a 25% tariff on kitchen cabinets, vanities, and upholstered wooden furniture.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"564\" data-end=\"615\">These rates are set to take effect on October 14.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"617\" data-end=\"734\">It was noted that on January 1, Trump will raise the tariff on cabinets to 50% and on upholstered furniture to 30%.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"736\" data-end=\"882\">This decision could potentially lead to higher costs for home construction and furnishing, prices of which have already surged in recent months.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"884\" data-end=\"967\">Trump stated that the United States has enough wood to meet its own lumber needs.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"969\" data-end=\"1243\">It was also noted that lumber is a critical component of the American construction industry, with the U.S. importing around 30% of its softwood lumber from Canada each year.
