WinTrix was formerly known as Chindata Group Holdings Ltd.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Chindata has evolved into one of China&#8217;s leading digital infrastructure platforms with unrivalled scale and technical capabilities,\u2019 said Jonathan Zhu, partner and chairman of Bain Capital China. \u2018HEC will continue to build on this legacy, leveraging its strong industrial expertise to support the next phase of Chindata&#8217;s development.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>According to a separate statement, Guangdong HEC and its affiliate will invest 3.5 billion yuan ($491 million) and 4 billion yuan, respectively, in the joint venture to purchase the assets. After the capital contribution, Guangdong HEC will own approximately 46.7% of the joint venture. The company noted that the transaction may have a \u2018certain impact\u2019 on its operations. Earlier reports indicated that Guangdong HEC competed with other bidders, including data centre provider Range Intelligent Computing Technology Group Co., gaming company Youzu Interactive Co., state-owned investment company Beijing Capital Group Co. and Inesa Group Co.<\/p>\n<p>Guangdong HEC&#8217;s shares have risen 113% since the beginning of the year, giving the company a market capitalisation of about $10.2 billion. The company supplies aluminium capacitors and electrode foils used in artificial intelligence systems and data centre computers, according to its interim report.<\/p>\n<p>A key customer of Chindata&#8217;s Chinese business is ByteDance Ltd., the owner of TikTok.<\/p>\n<p>Digital infrastructure is becoming a popular target for investors seeking stable returns and growth as the world increasingly relies on AI in everyday life.<\/p>\n<p>Founded in 2015, Chindata operates data centres in major hubs, including Beijing, the Yangtze River Delta and the Greater Bay Area in the south of the country. According to information on the company&#8217;s website, Chindata also operates in India and Malaysia.
