Ellison\u2019s fortune surged by more than $100 billion thanks to an unprecedented rally in Oracle\u2019s stock following the company\u2019s quarterly earnings release.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"362\" data-end=\"598\">The results, published Tuesday evening in New York after markets closed, exceeded expectations and drove the biggest one-day increase for Oracle since 1999. Meanwhile, Tesla Inc., Musk\u2019s company, has seen its stock fall 14% this year.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"600\" data-end=\"899\">Media outlets later confirmed that Ellison officially surpassed Musk, with his net worth soaring by $101 billion in a single day. His total wealth now stands at $393 billion, compared to Musk\u2019s $385 billion. This marks the largest single-day gain ever recorded by the Bloomberg Billionaires Index.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"901\" data-end=\"1107\">Musk first became the world\u2019s richest person in 2021 before losing the title to Amazon.com Inc.\u2019s Jeff Bezos and LVMH\u2019s Bernard Arnault. He reclaimed the spot last year and held it for more than 300 days.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1109\" data-end=\"1384\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">Ellison, 81, now Oracle\u2019s chairman and chief technology officer, has most of his wealth tied to the database software giant.
