For the first time since October 2017, Tesla\u2019s share fell below 40%.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"351\" data-end=\"540\">By comparison, Tesla EVs held 42% in July and nearly 49% in June. The decline is attributed to the growing number of competitors offering aggressive discounts and favorable leasing terms.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"542\" data-end=\"732\">For instance, Hyundai, Honda, Kia, and Toyota boosted EV sales by 60\u2013120% thanks to incentives, while Volkswagen\u2019s ID.4 sales surged by more than 450% in July following special promotions.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"734\" data-end=\"953\">Tesla also increased sales: in July, deliveries rose 7% to 53,816 vehicles. But that wasn\u2019t enough to hold its market share. In August, sales grew again \u2014 up 3.1% \u2014 yet the overall market expanded much faster, by 14%.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"955\" data-end=\"1188\">Another factor behind Tesla\u2019s decline is the lack of new models.
