{"id":150281,"date":"2025-09-17T12:00:12","date_gmt":"2025-09-17T09:00:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ldaily.ua\/?post_type=news&#038;p=150281"},"modified":"2025-09-09T20:21:40","modified_gmt":"2025-09-09T17:21:40","slug":"dva-najbilshi-u-sviti-vyrobnyka-midi-domovylys-pro-zlyttya","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/ldaily.ua\/en\/news\/dva-najbilshi-u-sviti-vyrobnyka-midi-domovylys-pro-zlyttya\/","title":{"rendered":"Two of the world\u2019s largest copper producers agree to merge"},"content":{"rendered":"<p data-start=\"62\" data-end=\"192\">UK-based mining company Anglo American and Canada\u2019s Teck Resources have reached a merger agreement, the Financial Times reports.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"194\" data-end=\"315\">Under the deal, Anglo American will hold 62.4% of the combined company, while Teck shareholders will own the remainder.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"317\" data-end=\"464\">The new company, to be called Anglo Teck, is expected to rank among the world\u2019s top five copper producers with a market value of $53 billion.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"466\" data-end=\"819\">Its headquarters will be in Vancouver, Canada, while maintaining offices in London and Johannesburg. Anglo Teck will be listed on the stock exchanges in London, Johannesburg, Toronto, and New York. Leadership will include representatives from both companies: Duncan Wanblad (Anglo American) will serve as CEO, with Jonathan Price (Teck) as deputy CEO.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"821\" data-end=\"1214\">More than 70% of the company\u2019s business will focus on copper \u2014 a critical metal for electric vehicles, renewable energy, and digital technologies. Key assets include six world-class copper mines in Chile, Peru, and Canada, as well as one of the world\u2019s largest zinc mines in the US.
