OnePlus has officially confirmed the end of its collaboration with legendary camera manufacturer Hasselblad. The Swedish brand’s logo has appeared on the company’s smartphones since 2021, starting with the debut of the OnePlus 9 series, and remained there until the release of the OnePlus 13.<\/p>\n
Co-founder Pete Lau noted in a blog post that \u2018the planned chapter with Hasselblad is complete\u2019 and it is time for a new phase. According to him, OnePlus is developing its own image processing engine, DetailMax Engine, which is designed to \u2018show the world as clearly and realistically as possible\u2019 without excessive retouching and artificial effects.<\/p>\n
He is convinced that modern computational photography no longer needs \u2018artificial embellishments or a fictional moon surface\u2019 but should provide \u2018unprecedented depth and authenticity.\u2019<\/p>\n
He also said that he is already testing an early prototype of a smartphone with DetailMax Engine, probably the upcoming OnePlus 15. Earlier, there were rumours online that the model would be released without Hasselblad branding.<\/p>\n
The future of OPPO, whose brand has also been collaborating with Hasselblad since 2022, remains uncertain.
