According to the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the issue involves the rear liftgate.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"395\" data-end=\"699\">The defect is linked to the brackets that support the tailgate. Due to their faultiness, the liftgate may suddenly fall without warning, posing a risk of injury to people nearby. While no injuries have been reported so far, the manufacturer decided to act proactively and carry out a preventive recall.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"701\" data-end=\"905\">Mitsubishi stressed that this step is aimed solely at preventing potential incidents.
