Xiaomi reported a 30.5% year-on-year revenue increase in the second quarter of 2025, reaching 116 billion yuan ($16.16 billion). The main driver of growth was smartphone sales, particularly in Southeast Asia, where the company took the top spot among manufacturers, Reuters reports. In Europe, Xiaomi ranked second, while globally it maintained third place with a 14.7% market share.<\/p>\n
Xiaomi\u2019s adjusted net profit rose 75.4% year-on-year to 10.8 billion yuan, exceeding analysts\u2019 average forecasts. Global smartphone shipments grew by 0.6% to 42.4 million units. At the same time, revenue from this segment fell by 2.1% to 45.5 billion yuan due to a decline in the average selling price.<\/p>\n
Company President Lu Weibing lowered the annual shipment forecast, reducing the expected figure to 175 million smartphones from 180 million. He acknowledged that global market growth had been weaker than expected and may reach only 0.1\u20130.2%.<\/p>\n
Xiaomi\u2019s automotive business is also expanding: it generated 20.6 billion yuan in revenue for the quarter, up from the previous quarter. In Q2, Xiaomi delivered more than 81,000 electric vehicles, compared with about 76,000 in Q1. The company also launched its second EV model, the YU7, though sales have not yet been reflected in financial results.<\/p>\n
Despite investing more than 30 billion yuan in research and development, the EV division remains unprofitable, although the quarterly net loss narrowed to 0.3 billion yuan. Lu Weibing expressed confidence that the business could achieve profitability on a monthly or quarterly basis in the second half of the year.<\/p>\n
The company\u2019s Hong Kong-listed shares closed down 1.2% on Tuesday at HK$52.4.
