According to informed sources, the Trump administration has not yet decided how the collected funds will be used. Licenses for H20 exports began to be issued on August 2\u2014two days after Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang met with President Trump. At the same time, export approvals for AMD\u2019s chips were also granted.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"831\" data-end=\"1160\">Export control experts call the agreement unprecedented, noting that no U.S. company has previously agreed to hand over part of its revenues in exchange for licenses. However, it aligns with Trump\u2019s broader strategy of offering businesses the option to make financial or production concessions to avoid tariffs or restrictions.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1162\" data-end=\"1385\">Nvidia and AMD did not dispute the existence of the deal. Nvidia stated that it \u201ccomplies with rules set by the U.S. government,\u201d while AMD emphasized that it acts in accordance with U.S. laws and export control policies.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1387\" data-end=\"1713\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">Analysts at Bernstein estimate that before the restrictions were introduced, Nvidia could have sold around 1.5 million H20 chips in China in 2025, generating roughly $23 billion in revenue.
