Overall, Tesla\u2019s sales across Europe dropped by more than one-third in the first half of the year.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"346\" data-end=\"373\">According to official data:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"375\" data-end=\"768\">\n<li data-start=\"375\" data-end=\"455\">\n<p data-start=\"377\" data-end=\"455\">In Sweden, Tesla registrations plunged 86% (to just 163 vehicles),<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"456\" data-end=\"506\">\n<p data-start=\"458\" data-end=\"506\">In Denmark, down 52% (336 vehicles),<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"507\" data-end=\"558\">\n<p data-start=\"509\" data-end=\"558\">In France, down 27% (1,307 vehicles),<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"559\" data-end=\"617\">\n<p data-start=\"561\" data-end=\"617\">In the Netherlands, down 62% (443 vehicles),<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"618\" data-end=\"668\">\n<p data-start=\"620\" data-end=\"668\">In Belgium, down 58% (460 vehicles),<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"669\" data-end=\"716\">\n<p data-start=\"671\" data-end=\"716\">In Italy, down 5% (457 vehicles),<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"717\" data-end=\"768\">\n<p data-start=\"719\" data-end=\"768\">In Portugal, down 49% (284 vehicles).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"770\" data-end=\"1201\">However, not all markets saw declines. In Norway, Tesla\u2019s July sales rose 83%, and in Spain, they increased by 27%. This growth is partly attributed to aggressive financing offers, such as 0% interest loans in select Scandinavian countries. In Spain, the broader market for electrified vehicles jumped 155%, with Chinese rival BYD selling 2,158 cars, nearly eight times more than a year ago.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1203\" data-end=\"1557\">Elon Musk has acknowledged that \u201ca few tough quarters\u201d lie ahead, citing the lack of new affordable models until the end of the year and the phase-out of EV subsidies in the U.S. He also pointed to regulatory hurdles in the EU that are slowing the rollout of autonomous driving systems, a key selling point for the Model Y in the U.S.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1559\" data-end=\"1864\">Tesla began selling the updated all-wheel-drive Model Y in Europe in March 2025, and the rear-wheel-drive version in May. Despite this, Model Y registrations in July fell by 88% in Sweden and 49% in Denmark.
