{"id":150011,"date":"2025-07-31T18:00:24","date_gmt":"2025-07-31T15:00:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ldaily.ua\/?post_type=news&#038;p=150011"},"modified":"2025-07-30T21:33:21","modified_gmt":"2025-07-30T18:33:21","slug":"pryvatbank-vygrav-sud-na-proty-kolyshnih-vlasnykiv","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/ldaily.ua\/en\/news\/novosti\/pryvatbank-vygrav-sud-na-proty-kolyshnih-vlasnykiv\/","title":{"rendered":"PrivatBank Wins Lawsuit Against Former Owners"},"content":{"rendered":"<p data-start=\"51\" data-end=\"265\">PrivatBank has won a major victory in the High Court of London in a multibillion-dollar case against its former owners, oligarchs Ihor Kolomoiskyi and Hennadiy Boholiubov, the bank\u2019s press service reported.<\/p>\n<blockquote data-start=\"267\" data-end=\"544\">\n<p data-start=\"269\" data-end=\"544\">&#8220;The High Court of London ruled that the two individuals unlawfully misappropriated nearly $2 billion from the bank through a <em data-start=\"399\" data-end=\"432\">very complex refinancing scheme<\/em> that operated in the interests of the individual defendants (Kolomoiskyi and Boholiubov),&#8221; the statement reads.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p data-start=\"546\" data-end=\"823\">The court rejected the oligarchs\u2019 objections, stating that their arguments were based on &#8220;dishonest grounds.&#8221; Justice William Trower emphasized that Kolomoiskyi likely considered himself &#8216;above the law&#8217;, and Boholiubov used forged documents to evade responsibility.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"825\" data-end=\"1100\">Although the exact amount of the liability is yet to be determined, PrivatBank says the former owners will likely be required to pay more than $1.7 billion, not including interest. The total amount, including interest and legal costs, could exceed $2 billion.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1102\" data-end=\"1289\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">The court also found that Kolomoiskyi and Boholiubov destroyed documents related to the case.
