The strategic importance of this cannot be overstated,\u201d Musk wrote Monday on X.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p data-start=\"681\" data-end=\"835\">The factory is likely the one located in Taylor, Texas, a project that previously faced delays due to Samsung\u2019s difficulties attracting major clients.<\/p>\n<blockquote data-start=\"837\" data-end=\"1059\">\n<p data-start=\"839\" data-end=\"1059\">\u201cSamsung has agreed to let Tesla help maximize manufacturing efficiency. This is critical, and I will personally oversee the process to accelerate progress. The fab is also conveniently located near my home,\u201d Musk added.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p data-start=\"1061\" data-end=\"1257\">Currently, Samsung manufactures A14 chips for Tesla\u2019s Full Self-Driving (FSD) system. The next generation, AI5, will be produced by Taiwan\u2019s TSMC, first in Taiwan and later in Arizona.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1259\" data-end=\"1440\">No specific launch timeline for AI6 chips was given by Musk. The A15 chips are expected to go into production by late 2026, meaning AI6 will likely follow afterward.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1442\" data-end=\"1595\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">Samsung confirmed the $16.5 billion deal, though it did not name Tesla as the client, citing confidentiality.
