More than half of the power generation capacity destroyed by Russia has been restored in Ukraine. This was announced by Deputy Minister of Energy Mykola Kolisnyk.<\/p>\n
\u2018Over the past few days, there has been an increase in air temperature, which has led to an increase in electricity consumption, but we have enough generating capacity to cover consumption. At the same time, it is important that all consumers use electricity rationally during peak hours, which are in the morning and evening,\u2019 Kolisnyk stressed.<\/p>\n
He assured that the energy system is currently stable and balanced, and the risks of power outages can only be caused by new massive shelling of energy facilities by the Russian Federation.<\/p>\n
The repair company is working daily to restore generating capacity in accordance with the approved schedules.<\/p>\n
\u2018As a result of Russian attacks, thermal and hydroelectric power generation suffered the greatest losses. More than 50% of the damaged generation has already been restored thanks to the work of energy specialists and coordination by the government, as well as the help of our international partners,\u2019 the deputy minister said.<\/p>\n
The efforts of energy workers, the government and international support have made it possible to restore more than 5 GW of generation capacity.<\/p>\n
The country is currently actively preparing for winter \u2013 gas injection rates are one and a half times higher than last year, and coal and nuclear fuel reserves will be sufficient to get through the next heating season in 2025-2026.<\/p>\n
In addition, the implementation of international agreements reached at the Conference on the Recovery of Ukraine in Rome is continuing in parallel. This includes investments in the development of nuclear, hydro and renewable energy, as well as the modernisation of networks and the launch of mechanisms to support distributed generation.<\/p>\n
