This was stated by European Commissioner for Trade and Economic Security Maros Sefcovic, reports The Guardian.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, such duties will \u2018practically ban trade\u2019 between the EU and the US, which is estimated at more than \u20ac4.4 billion daily.<\/p>\n<p>\u0160ef\u010dovi\u010d noted that both sides had been working on a trade agreement over the past month, but Trump&#8217;s sharp statement derailed progress.<\/p>\n<p>In response to this situation, the European Union has postponed the introduction of counter-tariffs on American goods worth \u20ac21 billion. However, EU ministers are considering expanding the sanctions package to \u20ac72 billion.<\/p>\n<p>According to the publication, positions on counter-tariffs on US goods within the EU vary.
