Pfizer will test its COVID vaccine in children under 12 years of age. Radio Svoboda reported this with reference to the company’s statement.<\/p>\n
The study will involve up to 4,500 children in the United States, Finland, Poland and Spain. The drug is already approved for use in emergencies for adolescents 12 years and older in the United States, Canada and the EU.<\/p>\n
The expanded study used a dose of 10 mcg for children 5 to 11 years of age and 3 micrograms for the age group 6 months to 5 years. For comparison, adults receive 30 micrograms.<\/p>\n
It is noted that providing children with safe and effective vaccines is considered a key step in the fight against the pandemic.<\/p>\n
The test results will be known in September.
