The world economy will grow faster this year than expected at the end of last year. The chief economist of the IMF Gita Gopinat announced this on Tuesday, April 6.<\/p>\n
“We now forecast a stronger recovery of the world economy in 2021 and 2022 compared to our previous forecast in January, with growth to 6% in 2021 and 4.4% in 2022,” she said.<\/p>\n
Earlier it was assumed that the current growth will not exceed 5.5%, and next year will be 4.2%.<\/p>\n
Thus, the IMF has raised its forecast for China’s economic growth in 2021 to 8.4% from 8.1%, in 2022 expects growth of 5.6%.<\/p>\n
The fund continues to improve significantly its estimate of India’s GDP growth this year – to 12.5% \u200b\u200b(it was 11.5% in January and 8.8% in October), next year expects a rise of 6.9%.<\/p>\n
The Brazilian economy, according to the IMF, will grow by 3.7% (it was 3.6%), in 2022 – by 2.6%.<\/p>\n
The growth of the US economy in 2021 will accelerate to 6.4% (preliminary forecast – 5.1%), in 2022 it will be 3.5% (January – 2.5%).<\/p>\n
Estimates of economic growth in the euro area have risen to 4.4% from 4.2% (more active growth was forecast in October – by 5.2%), in 2022 is expected to be 3.8%.<\/p>\n
The UK economy, according to the IMF, will grow in 2021 by 5.3% (forecast improved by 0.8 percentage points), in 2022 – by 5.1%; Japan – by 3.3% (preliminary estimate – 3.1%), in 2022 – by 2.5%.<\/p>\n
