This was reported on Tuesday by The Times.

A similar decision could be made, according to her, the Agency for the Control of Medicinal Products and Medical Devices (MHRA) of the United Kingdom on Tuesday.

Last week, the regulator announced that in the period up to and including March 24, the country had received 22 reports of cases of dura mater sinus thrombosis and eight reports of other cases of thrombosis on the background of thrombocytopenia. According to reports, seven people in the UK who got vaccinated with this vaccine died after they developed blood clots.

According to MHRA sources, there are “increasing arguments in favor of offering young people another vaccine.”

However, medical authorities said that there is no evidence to suggest a possible relationship between the use of the Oxford drug and the formation of blood clots. MHRA chief June Raine said the regulator “continues to carefully analyze reports of very rare and specific types of low-platelet blood clots after vaccination with AstraZeneca.” “The decision to regulate [its use] has not yet been made,” she added.

To date, in the UK, where the vaccination campaign began on December 8, 2020, the first dose of the vaccine has been administered to 31.52 million people. This is more than 47% of the population of the kingdom, as well as more than 58% of adult Britons. 5.4 million people have been vaccinated with the second dose so far. The country is currently vaccinated with drugs from the American company Pfizer and its German partner BioNTech, as well as AstraZeneca and Oxford University. This month, the kingdom is to receive the first large batch of vaccine from the American company Moderna, which was approved by the British regulator in early January.

[9
["post-128026","news","type-news","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","newscat-novosti
["GET
