Tesla published statistics on cars produced and delivered in the first quarter of 2021. According to the company, it produced 180,338 cars in three months, delivered 184,800 cars to buyers. For comparison: for the same period in 2020, Tesla produced 102,672 cars, delivered – 88,400. During the year, production and deliveries increased by almost 76% and 109%, respectively.<\/p>\n
Tesla has exceeded analysts’ forecasts, CNBC reported. They expected an average of about 168,000 electric vehicles in the first quarter, the channel quoted FactSet as of April 1. Estimates of experts ranged from 145,000 to 188,000 delivered cars. Analytical company Refinitiv expected 177,822 delivered cars, according to Reuters. The company produced Tesla Model 3 sedans and a Tesla Model Y crossover this quarter, according to published data. The same models accounted for almost all deliveries, but Tesla also sold 2020 Model S sedans and Model X city SUVs.<\/p>\n
Tesla’s work in the first quarter of the year, which ended March 31, 2021, was affected by a fire at the company’s plant in California, as well as a temporary shutdown, which CEO Elon Musk F explained as “lack of components.<\/p>\n
In 2020, Tesla delivered 499,550 cars. The result was about the middle of the interval that Musk called during the annual shareholders’ meeting: from 477,750 cars to 514,500 cars.
