The GTS of Ukraine operator has concluded an agreement on the diagnostics of the country’s main gas pipelines with the Swiss company ROSEN Europe B.V.<\/p>\n
“The agreement provides for the inspection of more than 4.5 thousand km of main gas pipelines with a diameter of 1,400 mm with a deadline of the end of 2024. The total cost of the operation is EUR6.44 million,” the statement said.<\/p>\n
It is noted that the in-tube diagnostics using the ROSEN intelligent piston will allow diagnosing the condition of the metal and welded joints of the main gas pipelines.<\/p>\n
“Timely detection and elimination of defects reduces the risk of accidents, increasing the reliability of the gas transmission system. The last in-tube diagnosis was performed by the previous GTS operator in 2009,” the company explained.<\/p>\n
The services will be provided in three stages. On the first one, the linear part of the main gas pipelines will be cleaned with in-pipe cleaning pistons, diagnostics will be performed by different methods and a working report will be prepared. In the second and third stages, after analyzing the results of the diagnosis, preliminary and final reports will be provided. The results of the diagnosis will reveal hidden defects in the pipelines and prioritize repairs accordingly.<\/p>\n
“On the balance of the GTS Operator of Ukraine there are more than 33 thousand km of gas pipelines.
