This was reported on its website by the Chinese State Administration of Market Regulation.<\/p>\n
According to the statement of the Chinese regulator, almost 30 thousand Model S and Model X, produced from September 2013 to August 2017 at the Tesla plant in California, will be recalled. They have problems with the front suspension, which, as the regulator points out, “has a negative effect on driving, increasing the risk of accidents and creating a safety threat.” Another nearly 20,000 Model S electric vehicles, produced between September 2013 and January 2018, will be recalled due to problems with the rear suspension. At the same time at some models the specified problems both with a forward, and with a back suspension bracket are observed. Replacement of the suspension parts in the recalled cars will be free of charge.<\/p>\n
The US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has not yet announced whether the similar measure will be taken for these models in the United States. “NHTSA is aware of Tesla’s recall in China due to the suspension problems. Our agency has not yet received serious complaints about these problems in the United States. We are in constant contact with Tesla and are closely monitoring the situation. If necessary, we will take all measures to protect the public from the possible threat to its security, ” – stated in the management of CNBC.
