Chinese social network TikTok trying through the courts to appeal the decree of US President Donald Trump, which provides for a ban on its activities in the country, if it is not sold to an American company. This was reported by Interfax-Ukraine on Tuesday, August 25, with reference to the Chinese media.
\n“It is not easy for us to sue the government, but we have no choice, except to act, to protect our rights, as well as the rights of our communities and employees,\u201d – TikTok said in a press release.<\/p>\n
As we know, Trump signed a decree on August 6, under which, 45 days after the date of its publication, any agreements of any person or property under the jurisdiction of the United States with ByteDance Ltd., the owner of TikTok, will be prohibited.<\/p>\n
Trump’s next decree gave the company 90 days to complete the deal.<\/p>\n
The original decree stated that TikTok was a threat to the US economy and national security. U.S. officials fear the Chinese government will gain access to TikTok users’ data, including U.S. citizens.
