China is a global player that sets its priorities for both the short and long terms. Ukraine is very interesting for China in the context of investment projects for the future. This is confirmed by a new investment proposal for Ukraine.
Ukraine, along with 20 other countries, will be included in the posed by China Association for promotion of economic cooperation named “Silk road”. Chinese funds allocated for the project about 300 billion yuan, or about $ 46 billion. This statement was made at the briefing in the framework of the investment session of the Kyiv economic forum “Ukraine-China: New silk road” by Executive Vice Chairman and Secretary General of the Chinese Federation of Industrialists Xiong Meng.
This Association is formally established, and the opening ceremony will be held in June this year in Beijing. «Thus, we can deepen our cooperation, – said Meng. – For this project we are willing to allocate a very large amount to 300 billion yuan to focus the attention of entrepreneurs for joint cooperation”. Vice Chairman said that the website is already created. Its title is “One train – one road». It hosts all the information about the participants, enterprises and the possible joint projects with 21 countries-members. This resource will help to establish a dialogue between countries to solve economic and political issues. Also it is planned to hold research, conferences and presentations of projects in order for the participants to share their experience.
The Celestial Empire’s companies are reported to be interested in Ukraine’s agriculture and to have plans for at least 10 thousand hectare agropark.
For reference: Export of Ukrainian agricultural products to China over the past five years has increased 12-fold and now accounts for 8% of the total number of Ukraine’s exports.
